About

About

Swarm was established to improve bee health in Oregon. More than 600 species of bees perform critical pollination in our state. In order to survive and thrive, bees require access to nutrients, nesting habitat, and protection from pesticide exposure. Current Swarm initiatives focus on education, advocacy and collaboration with like-minded organizations. Swarm is a registered Oregon Nonprofit Corporation organized for educational purposes and public benefit.

1

Educational resources

Bee populations face significant challenges as a result pesticide exposure, lack of adequate habitat, and the slow spread of exotic bees and bee disease. These links provide learning resources for individuals hoping to protect bees, enhance their habitat and expand our understanding of over 600 species of wild bees in Oregon.

2

Marist Catholic High School Bee Friendly Campus Project

Assist the Marist Catholic High School apiary club, Spartan Bee-Cause, in transforming the current Marist campus into a bee friendly campus by improving bee habitat and boosting bee biodiversity.

3

Educational assistance for the Oregon Bee Project

Hold educational events in local schools and the community to inform the public about the importance of bees as pollinators, the state's bee biodiversity and steps they can take to improve bee health.
